Jason's priorities are non-negotiable: take care of his sister; keep a roof over their heads; go back to school eventually. Can one club owner make it easier to uphold his priorities and maybe add him to the list? Jason Monroe had to leave school to be the guardian of his sister Kitty when his dad and step-mom die in a car crash. He's working two jobs to keep them afloat, but their boat is leaking much like the roof of their old house. Jason doesn't have time for love that is until Zach Montgomery, the owner of the Sunset Club, the premier gay club on the Jersey Shore comes calling.

Review Most Helpful 5.0 out of 5 stars Great story March 22, 2015By Maggie JFormat:Kindle Edition|Verified PurchaseAnother great start to a series by this Author. There was some crossover with characters from the Indiscreet series. In this story Zach and Jason are perfect for each other. Jason is young, but the sole provider for his baby sister. He meets Zach at the club his friends take him to for his birthday. Zach doesn't do relationships but something about Jason pulls at him and they become friends, which then turns to love. Well written storyline, characters we will come to love...I really enjoy this Author's writing style.

From the Author Jason Monroe is a good guy. When his father and step mother die in a car accident, he leaves school to step in and take care of his three year old sister.A year later Jason is working two jobs, has no social life and despite the fact he's been out since he was thirteen, never even been kissed. Then, there is more to his parent's demise then he knows. Will Jason make it with the help of the Ocean Township Championship Soccer Team of 2010 and a certain gay bar and dance club owner or will he drown in the throes of his responsibilities.

About the Author AC Katt was born in New York City's Greenwich Village. €She remembers sitting at the fountain in Washington Square Park listening to folk music while they passed the hat.  At nine, her parents dragged her to New Jersey where she grew up, married and raised four children and became a voracious reader of romantic fiction. €At one time she owned over two thousand novels, until she and her husband took themselves and the cat to New Mexico for their health and its great beauty.   Now, most of AC's books are electronic (although she still keeps six bookcases of hardcovers), so she never has to give away another book. €AC is new to both GLBT and to writing being, as she claims, a late bloomer, however, she claims to have found her niche writing GLBT romance.   She hangs out at ACKatt.com and ackattsjournal.com; where she keeps her blog. 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. A lot less talk and a lot more action By Ravenous Reader As another reviewer pointed out, nobody talks like this in real life and nobody acts like this in real life. A former football player with a bum knee who owns a gay bar and is getting a doctorate in psychology? Then decides to spend a lot of his free time with his cute new bartender and his little sister, for months, without any tension, sexual or otherwise being demonstrated? No drama, no surprising plot twists, everything is just laid out in conversation or in the minds of the characters. Time passes because we're told it has at the beginning of sections, not chapters. The story could have been told so much better, and in this particular trope it has been, many times. I know this author has written a few books, so the process can't be all that new for her, but this is really cheating readers out of a good read. Everything that should have been shown was told. The sex was like a lot of other sex in books these days--stimulation, lubrication, begging, screaming, tab a goes into tab b and then exhaustion and mutual admiration. Where's the excitement of new love? The romance? The bad guys? Even the fly in the ointment seemed to be missing. Subtlety? Irony? All missing. "Sandy" is mentioned a lot, and because it was New Jersey, I understood it was the recent devastating hurricane, but what about readers who don't know or don't remember? I don't like to denigrate authors because they work hard and a lot of sweat and toil goes into books, but this one was so disappointing. And I read it til the bitter end.

8 of 10 people found the following review helpful. just...very bad. By CM I thought at first a good edit could help this book; but no, that won't help. The book contains the worst dialogue I've ever read. No one talks in long winding sentences that read like an endorsement for environmental protection. I can tell the author is interested in climate change, likes cats and loves to cook. The author's voice is all over the story. And why is it necessary to tell all, all the time? Immediately upon being introduced, everyone spills their life story without any hesitation or reservation. It's simply ridiculous. I could not finish. Gave up in frustration. Save yourself the headache.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Okay but overpriced........ By Kindle Customer I read the book sample and some reviews and decided to give this author a try. There were many times I found myself reading what one of the two main characters "said" and thinking "Who speaks like that?" Some of the words or speach patterns seemed a bit stiff and during lovemaking on one ocassion just seemed wrong. I liked the "Cinderella" aspect-- good, honorable young man (22) working hard to raise his 4 year old sister meets handsome, moderately wealthy older man (32) who after getting to know the younger man sweeps him (and little sister) off his feet and marries him. Both mens parents have past away so they build their own big family from friends, neighbors, employees and a siblings family--I liked that too. If I had liked the book better maybe I wouldn't feel bad about paying the $6.99 because I would be rereading it.
