2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. 1st & foremost a love story By Meglarz If you just read the blurb - you'll know this is an M/M romance during the apocalypse and that may or may not be your thing. This is, however, a love story and a very sweet (as in nature, not lack of sex) love story about two men, two real people, regular guys - and it is delightful. The lead characters are good guys, trying to survive and take care of each other. Kilgore gives the characters time to build a friendship stronger than any initial attraction, friendship and partnership built on the people they are before it moves further - you know, like real life love. I love stories about interesting people whom I find likable and this is exactly that. Highly recommended and looking forward to the rest of the quartet.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Loved It! By HRC I loved this story -- I only wish it was twice as long. The whole series was entertaining, but this was by far the best. I love the whole idea of having to be 100% self suficient, surviving on what you happen to have in the house until you can grow your own food, etc and the romance was very sweet and had a perfect ending (except I wanted more -- I'd love to see a full length novel made out of this story).

Most people are headed south but Joshua has decided to leave them all behind. The poor guy has the worst sense of direction. It's a good thing his wanderings have led him to Chris. I liked that Chris is so generous with all that he has. His kindness made him a very appealing hero for me.Adult read
