1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good Read By LaGyrl7 Okay, so let me just start out by saying that this was my first read by this author and I did enjoy the book. However, there were some key things to me that made my reading experience a ‘not so great one’ and the following is my opinion of the book.For starters, some of the content just wasn’t realistic. And before I get slack from saying that, I KNOW that it’s fiction, but I feel like it’s good to have a certain believability factor when I’m reading books and this one just didn’t have it for me. Both of the main characters just seemed too young to be where they were in their careers (a 26yo attorney that has NEVER lost a case and the redundancy of her always finding loopholes in her cases) and a 29yo world renowned brain surgeon. I also feel in my opinion of the redundancy of the label name dropping and expensive cars (in relationship to their ages, careers, etc) didn’t seem believable either.Besides this, I think that the storyline was a good one. I loved the addition of Monique’s sister and I loved her relationship with Chris. Overall I liked the book, but the believability factor and the lack of good editing (if there even was an editor) just made this a not so pleasant read for me. I will probably get the next part because I want to see how it all plays out, but I hope that the editing is better and the believability is better.

Thank you Shantay for working hard to provide a great hardcore but romantic story. This book has everything to keep the reader entertained. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.Now I did love Chris and Monique. At first their relationship seemed kind of rushed. Monique could definitely hold her own. However, Chris was that street thug mixed with the sexiness of knowing how to treat a women and appreciate them. Oh my goodness Monique sister Kendra was off the chain and ready for whatever. There were great parts to this book that had me holding my side laughing. Add a mixture of elegance mixed with thug and it was a great book. I loved the fact that she was a lawyer and he was a street guy. Gave a different element to urban book. There was drama and mystery from trying to find out who's the bad guy. Chris is definitely going to be out for blood. Tyshon oh how many men think the grass is greener on the other side until you lose the best thing you ever had. I would possibly read book 2 once I've read book 1 over for better clarity. The book length was great. It was nice to read an urban book with good length. However, sometimes I can skip the cliffhangers!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. she did it again By Amazon Customer Shantay never cease to amaze me everything she writes is fyiah I love the storyline I'm glad that Monique met Chris everything about them was love but her ex tyshon was jerk wifed up his side piece which was also his baby mama now after all he did to mo she has moved on with Chris now tyshon is missing her Kendra and rashad make a good couple I just hope his bitter ex Keisha don't start no more drama Kendra needs to have that baby far as Tiffany she was stupid trying to pin a baby on Chris just so the baby real father can claim the throne which Chris not gone let him take he worked to hard for it but this ending made me feel some type of way I just hope part 2 Monique is back with her man come on shantay we want a happy ending some babies and weddings it was also good to see Jared and Jasmine in this book if you have not read this book I suggest you do you will not be disappointed
