Much better than Books 1 & 2 By Lora905 This was much better in that going in, anyone who had read the previous books in the series already knew that Joey was the office a-hole. He even calls himself that here. So you knew what you were getting. In Books 1 & 2, you see this huge guy on the cover (Sean) with the muscles and the facial hair, and he's a wolf shifter and a cop, plus he's in love with another cop. You expect strength and manliness, but Tom was so freaking weak in Book 1, and then it was Sean's turn in Book 2. I have no problem with an effeminate guy like Dylan, but Sean and Tom are big freaking crybabies who almost go into cardiac when someone stands to close to their significant other. But I digress...I liked the fact that the story seemed to flow so much easier here. I liked the fact that we got to know Joey outside of work, and a little about his background. I really liked that whenever something was difficult for Dylan, Joey would help or accommodate him, rather than push him or belittle him. And I especially liked that as he got to know Dylan, his feelings began to grow without him even realizing it, but you could tell it in his words (story is told in his POV) especially when, in his inner monologue, he says things like "my fox" and "my Dylan". Dylan is damaged and fragile, but even still it's not like it's naturally his nature. He's just at a low point in his life. Once things change between he & Joey, and he starts to gain more confidence, you can see a change in him. He's so freaking adorable. This was most definitely worth the read.

Joey is partnered with a fox shifter, Dylan. While I enjoyed Dylan's zany personality, there are so may things never explained. Joey has been homophobic in the first two books but now enters a sexual relationship with Dylan. The whole thing felt rushed and under explained. This is not a bad novel, but it is not as enjoyable as the others.

By Nyalla_NY I've said it before and will say it again, something about Hollis Shiloh's writing style makes me feel warm and cozy. When I want to read something with a character (or characters) who I just want to snuggle until they pop, this is where I go. This story was no exception. Dylan (the fox in the title) is a beautifully injured character who grows over the course of the story into someone so much more whole, it's delightful to experience.I loved that this human-shifter pair found their ideal placement in the medical field; that was a really interesting direction in which to go. I do wish there'd been a little more content for Joey on top of 'taking care of Dylan' because I worry a little bit that he's the sort of character who might need to do a little more with himself than just that, but again... that's just my opinion. I enjoyed seeing Tom and Sean from the author's previous shifter books and I really enjoyed the relationship between Sean and Joey, and the fact that in spite of the way they appeared to be 'frenemies' Sean was still the one Joey went to with his problems. I would love to see more of these four together in the future, because they seemed like they could all really become a tight group of friends.I am very likely to read this book again, particularly if I'm feeling a little bit down and want to smile. This would fit the bill perfectly. I am, of course, a Hollis fan, but frankly I think that makes me an even tougher critic because I go into each new read expecting it to be just as good as the previous one. Joey and Dylan did not disappoint!
