I had been wondering about who the mystery man was that fathered Nicholas and was the man who had stolen his mother's heart so many years ago. It had been alluded to in the past and I thought it would just be glossed over and never addressed. Well....this is the story that reveals it all. It is told in a novella, which are usually not long enough to garner my attention, but this was surely an exception. I am so glad to have read this book. It was both informative and very enjoyable. I was totally riveted to the plot and found myself feeling quite emotional as the details unfolded. Now I am looking forward to the final book of the series about Benedict Laytham.

By Pamela I am a huge fan of Kelly Boyce's writing -- I love the warmth and wit of her characters, and she always wraps them up in a great romance. The Lady's Sinful Secret is another winner from this great historical romance author.

I thought it had to be a close neighbor and I'm delighted that I was correct!Thank you for bringing them together again and I look forward to learning more about how their lives progress. This touches me more than Han you know as my husband and I were in love back in 1967 and we too had a child but unfortunately I miscarried. We were torn apart by his mother.We each married another and he had two children a boy and a girl, I had four more miscarriages before I was 20 and had to endure a complete hysterectomy. Both our marriages were wrong and bad. The only decent thing my ex did for me was to allegations w me to adopt my oldest sisters son, I've had him since he was born, legally since he was four months old.We suffered greatly yet still loved each other deeply and completely. 8 years later he came back into my life, we were married on the 27th of May 1975 and have been married for 40 years now. I'm grateful we didn't have to wait 30 years!So you see this story is by no means far fetched to me, thank you for allowing their love to be fulfilled too. I loved this story deeply, more because it resembled my life so much. There of course was much more drama to our story than I have revealed.Great job and on on to the next book in this series.

By Mark Wilson Cards on the table. I’m unashamedly biased in the following review. I love Roman epics and devour anything smelling even vaguely of sandals and red robes. I’m equally invested in Keith Nixon’s steamrolling writing career, which has been mainly focused on humorous, punchy, smart crime novels to date.Keith’s attention to detail, laborious research and flowing narrative makes the follow-up to Eagle’s Shadow a triumphant return to the world he’s fleshing out in the most subtle, but immersing manner.Writing a sequel comes with its own difficulties. Will the readers like where I take the story? Am I staying true to the characters but allowing their development? Is it as good as the first.Yes. Absolutely. No, it’s much, much better.In Eagle’s Blood, Keith stretches his literary legs and pushes his skills to new levels. Danger, intrigue, betrayal, Romans, brother-hood and battles. All are presented with the confidence of a writer who has found a new voice in Historical fiction, one that both compliments and surpasses his enviable skills in his more familiar crime/thriller genre. At times one would swear that Nixon has a window to the past.Striding genre isn’t an easy skill for a writer to develop, few manage it effectively; even fewer make it appear effortless. The Eagle's Blood By BigAl The Eagle’s Blood continues the story of the various tribes that occupied what is now Britain in their resistance against the invasion of the Roman army during the first century AD. Beyond the obvious (lots of battles and military strategy), there is plenty of intrigue and human interest going on as well.When I read historical stories I’m always comparing and contrasting to the modern world. One thing that struck me was how much this invasion was influenced by politics and technology, both still major factors in the modern world. At the time Britain was a hodgepodge of different tribes and if they are to have any hope to stop the Romans, they have to come together. The politics of combining the forces of tribes that have historically clashed and deciding who will lead these armies was a big part of the story. Tribal leaders needed to decide whether resistance was even worthwhile. If they’re going to lose, maybe throwing in with the Romans is the better decision. The technology possessed by the Romans — catapults and such — left the British with their more primitive weapons at a severe disadvantage with their only hope being to outnumber the Romans. A good story with special appeal for those interested in the historical aspects.**Originally written for "Books and Pals" book blog. May have received a free review copy. **

The Roman invasion of Briton gets underway complete with an Imperial photo op (so to speak) as Claudius and his extensive retinue arrive in time to see and be seen before heading off on a luxury cruise. We're introduced to future Emperor Vespasian as a well-respected Legate, as well. Can't wait for the next installment!

I also find out that, in this book, one will learn how to use actionable exercises and smart tips in order to achieve superior memory ability that can be used in dealing with life's challenges and situations. And this is what I've been looking for all along. I found this book when I was searching for something that will help my kids improve their memory. Good book on how to increase your memory power By Ethan Powers As memory is important to us, it is beneficial is we know how to optimize it's full potential. This book has good tips on how memorize poetry, news, telephone numbers and speeches.Other topics include explanations on the science of the brain in simple terms, why we forget and factors affecting our memory.The highlight of the book is on the ten tips to exercise or enhance our memory. Lillian soon decided to retire from active corporate life and return to Malaysia to raise her beautiful daughter, Jennifer, and spend more time with her family. It was at this time she began to devote her energy to writing and furthering her study of feng shui. She published her first book in Malaysia in1995 that quickly became a best seller and the rest is history. Today she is Chairman of Wofs.Com, a feng shui franchise and merchandising company run by her daughter, Jennifer Too. Y no me refiero a ese horror con asesinos o muertes espantosas, sino a uno mucho peor: el mal que te puede causar alguien que está demasiado cerca de tí, y por lo tanto no puedes escapar.Comencé a leer esta novela convencida que era una historia paranormal, debido al nombre, La Mansión Ritter, nombre que sugiere que en dicha casa ocurren muchos sucesos inexplicables. En efecto al principio es así porque Emile desde que pone el primer pie en la mansión, comienza a sentir y ver cosas extrañas. Sin embargo a medida que transcurre la trama, vamos conociendo más de la vida de ella y su familia, y por ende tendremos que conocer a su hermana mayor Jhoan, la cual a mi parecer es la verdadera protagonista de la novela.Jhoan es una mujer que tiene niveles insospechados de maldad desde su más tierna infancia, si existe el gen del mal, ella nació con él.La Mansión Ritter es una novela muy ágil de leer, con personajes muy bien delineados, tanto que lo más bien puedes pensar "qué mujer más tonta", o "cómo puede ser tan mala", o bien "cómo prefirió ser más mujer que madre". Mientras la leía tuve sentimientos encontrados con los personajes buenos, pero la antagonista se mantuvo fiel al papel hasta el final. Eso sí me hubiera gustado saber más del espectro, que hiciera más jugarretas, hubiera estado genial.No sé si será por su profesión, pero los thrillers de Mariela son fantásticos.Recomendada totalmente.

A Simply Beautiful and Powerful Story By KC Lynnette Bonner gets better with each new release, and Song of the Surf, the latest installment in her Pacific Shores series, is no exception. For its size, this book delivers double the goodness, double the romance and double the takeaway of many twice its length. Besides being a fun, romantic read, this is the kind of story that will change hearts, namely the way we view past mistakes, our place in God’s kingdom, our approach to whatever work God has for each of us to do, as well as our attitude toward some of the people and situations we sometimes subconsciously regard as beyond redemption, or try to shut out of our minds because deep down we don’t think we can make a difference to them.Bonner grabs us early with sympathetic characters we love rooting for—including a strong but vulnerable heroine of substance, a “calendar worthy” hero who’s as goodhearted as he’s handsome, and a tantalizing glimpse of the next book’s hero and heroine. Her gripping descriptions land us smack in the middle of the Pacific Northwest where the series is set. Breathe deeply enough and you’ll smell the salty air; listen and you’ll hear the song of the surf and feel its timeless rhythm. Before the book ends, you’ll have words to add to the music, wonderful words of hope with a message we all need to hear and won’t soon forget. Add real-life stakes we can all identify with and heart issues we truly feel, and this is an irresistible invitation to a delicious, guilt-free escape with a palatable dose of reality.Justus is the quintessential God-guy any girl would love to see beckoning from her horizon. Flawed but faithful, his pain reveals his character. The tragedy that has him questioning his calling to mentor delinquent boys was not his doing, yet he’s tormented over his inability to prevent it. Dakota, burdened with her own guilt and pain over a tragedy that did result from a choice that was hers to make, is Justus’s perfect counterpart. Together, they become the catalyst for each other’s healing. And their happy ending is our reminder that for us it will all turn out good in the end if we don’t let mistakes, fatigue or individual battles lost discourage us into abandoning the greater fight.The secondary characters are deserving of their own spotlight. Another one walks in and we’re thinking, “I hope he gets his own story” and “I hope I see how that works out for her in the next book.” Fans of the series will be happy to know that Riley and Jalen are up next in Book 4. Even relatively minor characters are carefully drawn—like the ER nurse we’ve all encountered at least once, “Mr. Purloin” with his vulnerable-bad-boy attitude, the mother-in-law who defies the stereotype. We recognize some of them the moment they walk onto the scene, because we’ve been there or know someone who has. I thought about these characters and their messes as I plowed through my day on the way back to reading. I was totally immersed from beginning to end, whether I had the story in front of me or not. And then comes that poignant scene at the end, with the song of the surf playing in the background and its beautiful message echoing in our hearts. The ending in itself is a work of art, and one that faithfully mirrors reality. We know the happy ending has to be coming, because this is Christian romance and Lynnette Bonner knows Christian romance, and we’re thinking “surely she knows there’ll be an angry mob to face if she doesn’t get it right.” At the same time, we’re holding our breath and wondering down to the last how Dakota and Justus are going to pull it off, because the conflict between their calling and their hearts’ desires is so very real. And then we realize along with them that God is the one who makes our happy endings happen when we submit to His will, and our faith grows a little along with theirs.Bonner’s underlying message about the consequences of our decisions, both the great and the so-called small ones, and the subtly woven exhortation to faithfulness in service, is well-delivered, and one we all need to hear. I especially appreciate the honest insight into the lives of those who put service ahead of personal gain. After all the caricaturing of Christianity in secular media (some of it well deserved) and the glossing over of it among some elements of Christian fiction, it’s refreshing and rewarding to see authentic Christianity realistically portrayed in a positive light.Read it! This one seals Bonner’s place on my bookshelf as one of my top authors to read, and Song of the Surf is up there on my gotta-read-again list. My only complaint is that it had to end.There should be a category for when 5 stars don’t say it all.

Always washing in, ready to clean us up and give us a fresh new start. Second chances. New beginnings.”I love the way this book tied into the title. Second chances. There are a few in this wonderful story where we once again meet up with Kylen and Taysia from Beyond the Waves, and Reece and Marie from Caught in the Current. And now we have Justus and Dakota who are both filled with guilt for things that happened that they blame themselves for.In this story, Justus and his friend Jalen are in town for their friend Reece's wedding. Dakota, whom he met on his last visit, is Marie's maid of honor. A storm the night he gets to town causes him to spend extra time with Dakota in the emergency room. All he wants is a date, but Dakota has heard things that keep her from accepting his offer. But as they are thrown together time after time for the days before and immediately following the wedding, they both learn great truths. About themselves, and about God.Just saw that there will be a fourth book in this series coming out this summer and am really excited for Jalen and Riley's story. I have really enjoyed the books written by Lynnette Bonner. She has amazing talent not only as an author but in creating the gorgeous covers that her books sport. I'm glad she uses her God given talent to bring us great enjoyment for a few hours.

Both need to confront their past, accept forgiveness and move on. Also Riley, her brother and Jalen who she met at the wedding are featured in the story. Riley's father is a billionaire, her mom stays drunk and her brother is out of control, and Riley is penniless after her boyfriend beats her up, she loses her baby and he kills himself. Dakota tries to reach out to her but it's hard after Riley comes to live at the shelter. How tragic people's lives are until they find Grace, mercy and forgiveness.

Rudolph Before I say anything, I must just say that this book should rather be read as part of the series and not as a standalone.When I read the first book a few months ago, I decided that I did not like Cami. At first I didn't really want to read her story, but bought the book anyway. I'm glad I did, because I now have to say that this was the best book of the series.A series that must be read.

She has a stalker who beats her up. Can She find God and Love. Josh is Lances cousin and is helping at the manor. Can he find forgiveness and Love. A very good book
