You're about to discover over 1000 French verbs exemplified in French & English sentences.

Learning a new language is never an easy task, but it doesn't have to be hard. By learning the 1000 most used verbs in a language, you give yourself a fantastic foundation to start building upon to your road to fluency.

In my audiobook, 1000 French Verbs in context, I give you over 1000 of the most common French verbs used today. You are given the verb in French and English with examples of the verb in a sentence, also in French and English. No more confusion about how to use the verb.

One thousand words are a perfect number to aim for. It is important to give yourself goals to stay motivated and to keep yourself learning. Imagine if you learnt 10 words a day. Five in the morning and five at night. After only 100 days ( that's just over three months), you would have access to 1000 verbs in your vocabulary. That really is quite a lot and would give you an excellent grasp of the language.

Far too many people expect to be speaking a new language far too quickly without putting in the time or effort. As a language teacher, I can testify to seeing this too many times. I can also say that by exposing yourself to a new language daily, you will surely learn it. It does take time and effort but 10 words a day will give you a massive boost. If you prefer a slower pace, then you could set yourself different goals.

The key to learning new vocabulary is to see it in context, that means in use. Seeing how it's used will help you remember the word a lot better. It is also important to understand how that word should be used in a sentence.

Perfect Book for the Beginner By Jimmy Franklin We have a business trip planned for Paris this year, and I wanted to get familiar with some of the most common phrases before we left. I had left myself a few months to learn, but this book was amazing. I was able to really get a grasp for the language quite easily without any difficulty. If I ever plan another trip overseas, looking for this author for help first.

However, reading this book ignited my passion for learning French once again. Indeed, this is a great guide in learning French verbs and their uses in different sentences and contexts. This is an easy to listen to audio book. It would have been nice to have a chance to practice the verb as I went along. I did need to stop and try the words and rewind and listen to it again. If I was traveling I would use the audio book to try to pick up new words to use. Personally I think learning a second language is a very value added life skill.Which character – as performed by Cait Frizzell – was your favorite?Cait has good pronunciation and enunciation. Jamie Chadwick is straight. Determinedly straight. Or so he keeps telling himself. His small conference business is doing okay and, even though he looks after his ailing father, he loves living in the countryside and life is good. Sort of. But the arrival of old college friend, David Fenchurch, who’s just come out on the distinctly camp side of camp, together with Lucy Reid, his father’s sexy new physiotherapist, sets Jamie on a path he’d never dreamed of taking. On top of all that, the unexpected return of long-lost family friend, Robert Trevelyan, himself openly gay, means that Jamie can no longer ignore the past he’s kept hidden for six years. When Robert and David get together, Jamie’s feelings begin to surface in surprising ways. Who, amongst the crowd of people set to blow his life apart, will make it onto his fantasy hit list? And in the midst of Jamie’s own emotional battlefield, how can he keep things together at all?

By Arlena Title: The Hit ListAuthor: Anne BrookePublished: Amber Quill PressReviewed By: Arlena DeanRating: 4Review:"The Hit List" by Anne Brooke good contemporary read. You will find that this novel of the main character is trying to 'understand his sexual identity and also dealing with family crisis.' "The Hit List is a fast pace even though it is rather long. We find Jamie Chadwick is living a home taking care of his 'ill father' and also working from home. Things come to head when Jamie's friend from college announces he is gay. What all will come of this? Even though by the end of the book Jamie still hasn't told his ill father about his issues. Has Jamie really come 'out? And then we have David changing his mind about being gay. Wow, this was some read of change or was it? As I kept reading I saw that Jamie lacked 'social skills, not particularly handsome, desperately wanted to marry someone...then he writes 'The Hit List' which was people he wanted to kill. Now, why was this? I really didn't see "The Hit List" as a true romance. I felt like this was more of the 'comedy of life.' Now what does this mean? I got this from a quote: "The choices people make (or don’t make), the consequences thereof, and the inherent complications and confusions that come of relationships." To me that says it all. To get your thoughts you must pick up this read and see for yourself. It may start out somewhat slow but keep reading and you will see which way this author is leading the reader. The characters were all pretty well drawn like Jamie, his father, David, Robert, the vicar and his daughter, the village fete, to the nosy landlord, but all in all I found most of these characters were a very interesting group of people. This story gives off the presents of being so very 'true, heartbreaking and very sentimental.' So, if you don't mind gay issues and above all 'The Hit List' then I would recommend this touching read for you.

9 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Well-Written, But I Canot Recommend It By Alan Arthur Katz I am a recent, but huge fan of Ms. Brooke. The last book of hers I read was "Maloney's Law" and it blew me away! She is an awesomely talented writer and I've got "A Dangerous Man" queued up as my next read. However, I wish I could be as enthusiastic about this book, "The Hit List". Somehow, I get the impression that Ms. Brooke moved out of her comfort zone on this one, and, in my opinion, she didn't fare well. This is a book about coming out (or not coming out) that takes place in rural England outside of Colchester. The protagonist, Jamie Chadwick, is a young man who's gone home to look after his ailing dad who, it appears, hates his son's guts, even to the point of declaring that he wishes Jamie's older brother, Mark, were there, so that things could be happy again, the way they were before Jamie was born. Personally, this nasty old fart would be at the top of my hit list, too.And then there is Robert, the gorgeous, successful businessman who shared a past with both Jamie and his brother (he was Mark's boss in a Web development company), now living in Japan and gone lo these last six years.Much of the book is about Jamie's problems with his thankless dad, the gossips that seem to populate all of his little village, and the two girlfriends he's not very good at juggling. One, Carina, is the young Vicar's daughter, the other, Lucy, is the too-hot-for-words physiotherapist who comes, several times a week, to care for Jamie's father. And then things get murky. His old friend, David, shows up, dressed like a queen and declaring that he's now totally gay. So what does Jamie do? Snub him and tell him off, of course.Which brings me to my problem with the book. Maybe it's just a different culture, and a British thing, but men moving back-and-forth from gay to straight, at will, is simply mind-boggling to me. Of course, it's not possible. Someone can be bisexual, of course, and just pick different-gendered partners at different points (or together), but that's not what this book is about - it's about the straight guy "going gay" and vice-versa. Sorry, but the whole thing is just lacking in any kind of credibility, whatsoever. It's just not how gay men are. Perhaps, if this were a fantasy, I'd be more forgiving but, despite the fact that some reviewers here have claimed "The Hit List" is both "light" and "full of humor", I suspect they weren't reading the same book I did. Either that, or my sense of humor is seriously deficient.I also found the lead character, Jamie, both annoying and, at times, despicable. He prepares a hit list of all those people who, in dying, would make his life much more bearable. It is his solace and, at least on two occasions, he actually makes fleeting and abortive attempts at following through. Perhaps others find it "humorous" or "charming" to see David throwing up violently after ingesting a concoction Jamie put together to harm his father, so sick that the others wanted to call an ambulance. I didn't.In his cowardice and insensitivity, Jamie manages to get both women - one of whom is left, crushed, when he walks away from her, and the other, though he sleeps with her passionately, senses something is off and secretly cheats with someone else - who was supposed to be gay, but isn't.And the only person Jamie ever really loved (although their relationship remains unconsummated) is Robert, who, when he kisses him (which Jamie is quite caught up by), ends up, more often than not, being punched in the gut or thrown to the floor. Ah, ain't love grand. To be honest, I really, really disliked Jamie. Talk about a lack of empathy and/or sympathy for a character. At no point did he either make me smile or pull at my heartstrings. The only emotion I experienced through most of this book was annoyance. Every time Jamie picks up a phone to call someone, to tell him or her the truth, or to apologize, the words just won't come, and he can't (or won't) say a thing, and then hangs up, in frustration. I couldn't decide if Jamie was aphasic, autistic, or just a complete and total imbecile. I'm leaning toward the latter. The ending is just as wrong as most of the rest of the book. Jamie first decides he's "gay for you", only ever feeling attraction to Robert, otherwise straight (he certainly does get physically aroused by the very thought of women throughout the rest of the book), then decides he likes a hotel executive who helps him organize one of his conferences. A few weeks later, he's driving to gay bars and dancing and kissing all the men he can find. Whoops, I guess I'm gay, after all - completely ignoring all the hot sex he had with women for more than 200 pages. And we can't wrap this up without some commentary of the least-satisfying happily-ever-after I've ever read in a book about gay men. Robert and Jamie decide that Robert will come back from Japan to live closer to Jamie because, well... they love each other and want to be together. Except that they both agree they'll have to stay in the closet.... and work around that tiny, inconsequential limitation. Welcome to the 21st Century, in which true love between gay men means living in the closet?I love when Ms. Brooke writes one of her great action/thriller novels with characters that just happen to be gay. It is where she shines. But writing about gay men's relationships and the coming-out process? Not so much. What you have here is a view from the outside, and not a particularly accurate one.I gave this book three stars for the brilliant writing. But because of the content and the characters, I cannot, in all honesty, recommend it.

Jamie has a hit list of people he would like to kill, of course only as a way to release stress, or is it?Jamie is straight, really really straight, so straight that he has his eyes set on the vicar's daughter and then his father's physiotherapist. Jamie is straight when family friend whom he did not see for six years comes back. Is Jamie really straight?Despite the existence of the infamous hit list (and it changes all the time), this is probably the lightest novel I have read so far by Anne Brooke and I loved it.Jamie really does undergo a journey of self discovery throughout the book and the writer leads him through this journey with subtle humor and sympathy. His problems are very relatable, I really liked this character and was very pleased with how this book ended.

I read books 1-3 only to get to book 4 to find that characters who were deceased in books 1-3 are alive in book 4. If these books were in the correct chronological order they would much more enjoyable. I will not be reading any more of the Santa Rosa Saga, and probably no more by this author for this reason.

By Amazon Customer As with the other books in this series it seems there are missing chapters and the series seems to be out of order. This is book one but when you read others in the "Saga" you are jumping all over in time for the characters.

This is the sequel to The Intern's first time and was even hotter than the first book!! I couldn't believe the affair continued in the office and restroom, parking lot, ect.! And the plot thickens when the spouse actually knows what going on and has a little surprise waiting along with the help of the intern. Again this book is a great short read and is absolutely and totally hot!!! I can't help but wonder though if the intern actually planned everything but made herself look innocent and got what she wanted! Awesome sequel!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Menage FFM By Texas reader I liked this much better than the first one. There is more interplay between the owners of the agency and I also find menagerie of three lovers to be hot. There's a lot of surprises in the story but I will not reveal any of that. It would spoil the excitement of discovering it on your own. The book is hot enough to enjoy but does not have any of the elements that a lot of people would say are too much. It's like eating a jalapeno pepper, very spicy.

Mostly because it involved her husband in this threesome and wow... When the husband comes home to 'find' his wife and employee together - mmmmmm the best reaction possible. Yummy!

Make The Shift to Carb Cycling Easily with This Book!

The Carb Cycling Weight Loss diet may sound so daunting, but it is a fairly easy concept to understand.

Carb is just short for carbohydrates, now wait a minute before you jump into various misconceptions about carbs. I know that many diets out there push you to deprive your body of carbs in order to lose weight, however this is a very evil misconception.

In fact, depriving your body of carbs can make you lose weight–short term; but long term? NO! Your metabolism eventually slows down, until it eventually halts. If you re-introduce carbs back into the diet, your carb-famished body will rebound and ultimately hold on to the sugar and water, thinking that soon it will be deprived of carbohydrates again.

So, before you disregard the carb cycling weight loss diet, get your facts straight first—even the widely believed idea that the Earth was flat, was after all, eventually proven to be false.

So, what are you getting from this book?

  • First you will be introduced to the carb cycling diet, what it is all about, the premise behind the diet, and the scientific facts that prove why the diet is good, dependable, reliable, healthy, and true.
  • You will get to know the various hormones in your body that help you lose weight and how they play a role in the carb cycling diet.
  • You will also be taught how to go on a carb cycling diet, with specific guidelines to follow. The book also includes tips and tricks that you can use to make the shift to this diet easier.
  • And lastly, there are over a dozen recipes included in this book with its equivalent of carbohydrate content (in grams) per serving of the recipe. This will make it easy for you to follow your carb intake for the day.

Get this book - and get started with your carb cycling diet.

“Shocking, emotional, and punctuated by moments of brutal savagery, SLOWLY WE ROT contains some of the most frightening scenes in recent horror fiction. If you enjoy zombie stories, you’ll love this book. If you believe there’s no life left in the zombie subgenre, Bryan Smith is about to prove you wrong. SLOWLY WE ROT is a searing, stunning triumph.” --Jonathan Janz, author of The Nightmare Girl and Savage Species Long after the zombie apocalypse wiped out most of the human race, a young man named Noah resides in a remote mountain cabin. Several years have passed since he last saw another human being. The long period of isolation and loneliness has fostered a deep despair in Noah, who also struggles with suicidal impulses. But Noah is a man who was struggling even before the end of the world, a seemingly helpless slave to his addictions. When the vindictive sister he has long believed dead unexpectedly returns, events transpire that prompt him to leave his mountain refuge and embark on a cross-country trek to find the lost love of his life. It doesn’t matter that she’s probably long dead. He just needs a purpose again and this is it. Along the way, he experiences moments of hope and profound tragedy. Soon Noah’s sanity begins to fray and his ability to distinguish between fantasy and reality starts to disintegrate. Through it all, he keeps trying to reach the one he lost long ago. And he’ll continue no matter what, even if it costs him his life, because it’s a big, empty world and this is all he has. "Sure, there are flesh-eating zombies in Bryan Smith’s gut-punch of a novel, SLOWLY WE ROT, but in telling the tale of one man’s nightmarish journey through a post-apocalyptic landscape, Smith reminds us of the most brutal truth of all: the worst monsters dwell inside us." – Tim Waggoner, author of LIKE DEATH and EAT THE NIGHT

A different, wiser Bryan Smith novel By Scott Wilcox Slowly We Rot takes place in the zombie post-apocalypse, but it is not a zombie apocalypse novel. If you are looking for page after page of gut munching and head shots than you would be better off finding another book (don't worry, there are scores of books that are just what you are looking for). The zombie situation provides the backdrop for the story, which is one of loneliness, addiction, guilt, and despair.I admit I was surprised at first. Bryan Smith has a well earned reputation for literary mayhem, plus the novel takes its name from a classic death metal album (by Obituary), so I expected a gore soaked action fest. As the story developed and it became clear that this was something different I put my expectations aside and went along for the ride. The story of Nick's cross country journey across a dead continent is told at a slow pace but is never boring. Occasional flashbacks to pre-apocalypse times give insight in to the character and grant the reader insight in to why he reacts the way he does to things in the present. Subtle events in early stages are important later, so careful reading is recommended.I was a little disappointed at first that this wasn't the Bryan Smith novel I thought I was getting, but those feelings changed as I continued and now I think it is my favorite book from him. It takes courage to step away from what readers expect and I thank Mr. Smith for that and for this brilliant work with so much to say. 5 stars, highest recommendation.

Griffin SLOWLY WE ROT reminded me that the best zombie stories are about people, not the zombies and the grue and gore that goes along with the shambling masses. At its core, this is a harrowing tale about the depths of humanity and what's beyond it. Regardless of whether you like zombies or not, SLOWLY WE ROT re-solidifies the best of what the zombie genre has to offer.

But when I heard Smith was writing a new zombie novel, I knew it'd be worth the wait. While SLOWLY WE ROT isn't as different as his 2006 novel DEATHBRINGER, ROT turned out to be an emotional roller coaster ride that countless "zombie authors" would be wise to take note of.It's about 7 years after the undead have claimed the world. Noah lives on the east coast of the United States in an isolated mountain cabin, spending his days reading pulp westerns and living off the land. He sees few zombies, but the ones that come around his property are easily dispatched. His quiet life changes when his thought-to-be-dead sister Aubrey shows up with an older, ex-marine named Nick. She's in a rage and forces him away from the house. Noah decides to trek west and look for a lost college love, whose California address and picture he kept saved. On his trip, Noah encounters a psycho survivalist, a small army and a sheltered community where things go in directions you'll never see coming, and although this novel focuses mainly on the humans, there's plenty of gory zombie action to satisfy the most hardcore of horror fans. There are a LOT of road trip zombie apocalypse novels, but few can touch the depths of SLOWLY WE ROT. Noah's battle with the undead pales to his pre and post apocalyptic struggle with alcohol, and I found myself cheering him on at every turn. Aubrey is also nicely fleshed out, as is Nick. These three characters won't be leaving my mind any time soon.Whether zombies are your thing or not, SLOWLY WE ROT is an acceptional novel and will easily be regarded as a classic of the subgenre. Don't miss it.

Irish immigrant Maggie Malone wants no part of the war. She'd rather let "the Americans" settle their differences-until her brothers join Missouri's Union Irish Brigade, and one of their names appears on a list of injured soldiers. Desperate for news, Maggie heads for Boonville, where the Federal army is camped. There she captures the attention of Sergeant John Coulter. When circumstances force Maggie to remain with the brigade, she discovers how capable she is of helping the men she comes to think of as "her boys." And while she doesn't see herself as someone a man would court, John Coulter is determined to convince her otherwise. As the mistress of her brother's Missouri plantation, Elizabeth Blair has learned to play her part as the perfect hostess-and not to question her brother Walker's business affairs. When Walker helps organize the Wildwood Guard for the Confederacy, and offers his plantation as the Center of Operations, Libbie must gracefully manage a house with officers in residence and soldiers camped on the lawn. As the war draws ever closer to her doorstep, she must also find a way to protect the people who depend on her. Despite being neighbors, Maggie and Libbie have led such different lives that they barely know one another-until war brings them together, and each woman discovers that both friendship and love can come from the unlikeliest of places.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A New Look at Women in the Civil War By Amazon Customer This is a very entertaining, fictional story about Maggie Malone. She and her brothers are Unionists living in Missouri at the start of the Civil War. Most of their neighbors were slave owners and supported the South but they were Irish who had just arrived in the country around 1848 and did not believe in slavery. Her two brothers were compelled to join the Irish Brigade forming in St Louis. Maggie and her uncle are left to take care of their farm. After a skirmish with the southern troops, she finds that her one brother has been injured. Since she has received no letters and was worried and their camp in just down the river, she sets off to find out their condition. While at their camp, the southern troops block her way back home and she stays with her brothers and their brigade, making herself useful by mending shirts, cooking, carrying water and even nursing during the battles. She proves herself brave and a true “Daughter of the Regiment”.This story was a very pleasurable read. The author does an excellent job tying all the characters together and the story flows. It compels you to keep reading. It also is written in such a way that a young reader from about 12 and older could also pick it up and enjoy. The story is completely fiction though. The Irish Brigade in the story and the Battle of Wildwood Grove are based on similar brigades and battles but they did not actually exist nor was that battle ever fought. The story is written for pure entertainment. Maggie was actually modeled after real life daughters of the regiment. During the Civil War they were actually called vivandieres or cantinieres but they performed the duties that Maggie performed in the book.I enjoyed this book very much. I do a lot of reading about the Civil War but had never read about daughters of the regiments. This story introduced one more fascinating aspect of the war that is not spoken about a lot. It has encouraged me to delve more into their history and it will do the same for you.

By embarnett Growing up outside of Lawrence, Ks I was well aware of Quantrill's raids and many aspects of "bloody Kansas" history but was unaware of this bit of Missouri history so close at hand. I love the historical stories of our country and this another good one. There is so much to learn from our ancestors struggles! Actually I have enjoyed all of this author's novels. I admire the talent of this gifted author.

After her brothers join Missouri's Union Irish Brigade, leaving her and her Uncle Paddy to run the farm on their own Maggie takes things into her own hands. A strong and strong-willed young woman, she braves the journey to find her brothers after her farm has been ransacked, livestock killed, animals stolen, and her Uncle Paddy badly beaten.Maggie is so well described in "Daughter of the Regiment," she comes alive in every detail. All of the characters throughout this book are portrayed in poignant and believable descriptives. The author's use of such strong characters brings the reader into the story, making the story tangible. I felt I walked alongside Maggie throughout whatever circumstances presented themselves.A wide variety of characters come to life in this moving depiction of the life and times of the Civil War. Strong, colorful, sensitive, each individual is developed with care. The landscape is pictorial and described with detail and clarity. Knowing only the more talked about locations where the Civil War was fought, the Missouri involvement was new to me. The author transports the reader from plantation life to the fields and ravages of war, and evokes emotions of the deepest kind.I became so engrossed in this novel that the hours flew by as I became a part Maggie's life, and the lives with whom she was involved. I will undoubtedly read this book again. It was a deeply moving portrayal of life at a time when no one knew who to trust or believe. I highly recommend "Daughter of the Regiment."Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from Hachette Book Group in exchange for my honest review.
