By Coffee Addicted Writer (Billy) Being released to bookstores today is the western-romance A Heart's Disguise by Colleen Coble. The novella is book one in the 6-part Journey of the Heart, in which each a new installment will be released monthly.Over the last few years, Colleen Coble has become one of my favorite authors, so naturally I was excited to review A Heart''s Disguise. The Journey of the Heart series was the author's first series, originally titled Where Leads the Heart and Plains of Promise. The idea for the book was inspired by a trip she took to Wyoming, where she visited the place where her late brother, Randy, had lived. After finishing the books, it took her six years to find a publisher for it.A Heart's Disguise is set in Washbash, Indiana in 1865 and centers on a young woman Sara Montgomery, whom lost her mother at an early age and became a second mother to her younger brother, Joel. Her father's health is declining fast and he wishes that she would marry Ben Croftner. Though she still loves her ex, Rand Campbell, who supposedly died at Andersonville, Sara agrees to marry Ben as she thinks he would make a good husband and a decent father-figure for Joel.Out of the blue, Rand Campbell rides into town. Except for a limp, he has full recovered from his wounds and he is looking forward to reuniting with his parents, brothers and of course the love of his life - Sara.While Rand's family embraces his return, Sara is overwhelmed with it and she wonders how he will react to her engagement to Rand. And she also wonders how Ben will react to Rand being alive. Would Rand think she betrayed him?At 90 pages (I'm not including the excerpt for A Heart's Obsession), this is very short novella. I read all of it this morning before I finished one cup of coffee. It's definitely different than the author's other writings, the plot feels like it came from a western pulp magazine from the 30s' & 40s'. I instantly felt connected to main character, Sara, and the situation she finds herself in. The hero, Rand, is also well-written for the most part. Overall, A Heart's Disguise is an intriguing start to a new series. I enjoyed reading it and I recommend it to others.*Disclaimer - I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review. Christian Romance and Suspense By M_ Fitzgerald "A Heart's Disguise" is book one in author Colleen Coble's "Journey of the Heart" series; it is also my introduction to Colleen Coble. This arrangement is a reprint of her first series, originally titled "Where Leads the Heart" and "Plains of Promise" The novel is set in the year 1865 and in the pristine land of Wabash, Indiana; as America celebrates the end of the Civil War. Sarah, the predominant character, was eleven when her mother died. Her fiancee is reported to have died fighting in the war, and now her father is dying. Her father wants to see Sarah marry before he dies. In some ways the novel was raw as it expounded upon the disheartening effects of the war, yet comforting as it articulated the use of scripture among men in battle. I was entertained as I read this brief somewhat frightening book. I presume the overall message to be "What are you willing to do for the one you love?" I recommend this book to readers who enjoy Christian Romance/Suspense novels. Next month, I plan to review book two of the series, "A Heart's Obsession."Disclaimer: I received `A Heart's Disguise` complimentary to review.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Solid Start By Sunrise Books The drama is thick and the emotions, well, just plain crazy. Sarah was a well formed character hurting from the loss of her fiance only to joyously discover he is alive and yet then be rejected by him. Rand is waaay too emotional. He is the definition of rollercoaster. He needed to take a breath, relax and think a little. It is hard to see why Sarah fell for him in the first place.'A Heart's Disguise' does give us a brief glimpse into Coble's writing voice and style. I haven't read anything else by her before, so I can only assume her writing improved since this first story. However, this one? Not great. It had a lot of potential and I am still excited to read the next installment in April. I'm optimistically rating it with 3 stars. Keep an eye out for my review next month for further thoughts!!I received a copy of this book from Litfuse Publicity and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

It is also safe as it does not contain any chemicals. The skin and hair care recipes are easy to prepare. The anti aging recipes are awesome. I simply could not afford it with all my other bills for rent, car, and food. I applied for financial hardship in order to defer repaying the loans. Two years later I volunteered for a Non-Profit called Mentoring Student Athletes that helped High School students pass the ACT and SAT tests. It was there that I learned from the director of MSA, Jeff Tarver, scoring well on the ACT or SAT, then earning a high accumulative GPA in High School would earn students money that they did not have to pay back. I kicked myself for not knowing this or not caring when I was in High School. In 2013 I took what I learned from MSA and started Be Your Dreams, LLC to help High School students do what I didn't do; excel at being a great student so that you literally attract colleges that want to pay you to attend their school. That is what I teach today, that High School is a job that you get paid tens of thousands of dollars to do well. You just have to wait Four Years to get the check; but it's well worth it. I know I say something along these lines every time I read Susan Fanetti but it warrants saying again and again...this woman is amazing. Her writing is poetic, her stories flawless in tempo, flow and arc and her characters are so memorable, endearing and real.The second book in the SoCal Night Horde is about Faith Fordham, born and raised in the MC and Michael Van Buren (aka Demon), a foster kid who finally finds a home with the MC. These two have a tortured past, partly of their own doing but also put upon them by the hands of others. Their story is about true love despite age, time or circumstance; about second chances even when you feel you don't deserve it or are afraid to trust it; and about new beginnings among the chaos, the secrets of the past and their own fears.My favourite things about this story:1. Faith, another kickass heroine whose strength and beauty just leaps off the page. Just like her name, her faith and love for Michael never waivers. It’s a rare kind of love that is pure, true and endless.2. Demon, a truly broken soul if ever there was one. Beaten down and faced with the ugliest of mankind at such a young age, but despite it all, he is a protector and a loving and gentle soul.3. Sly, the big ole tom cat. He may just be a cat but his meaning to me was so much more. He saw a kindred spirit in Demon, a survivor and he recognized a gentle loving soul in Faith. You know what they say about animals having that sixth sense about which humans are trustworthy.4. Bibi, another strong beautiful woman. What an awesome club Queen! She’s a mother to the MC but seeing her with Demon and Faith just had me all emotional. Loved her!5. Muse, Muse, Muse…loved him in Strength & Courage and loved to see his bond with Demon even more in this one. A true brother to Demon.6. Finally, last but certainly not least, Susan Fanetti. I’m constantly in wonder of her and her ability to breathe life, love, loyalty, beauty, hope, family and friendship and so much more into the darkest of places and into the most broken of souls. And in the end of it all, she leaves you with the truth in the strength of spirit, the power of love and that hope shines eternal.

She has a new book out every 2 months (which lead to me spending an obscene amount of money on her compare to other authors that published once a year) and yet every single one of her work is at least a solid 4 stars for me (ok, except for Pagano series, which is not my cuppa). I know everyone had different taste when it comes to the characters, but for me some of the couples that she wrote lack a certain 'WoW' factor. I mean we can't be having everyone as awesome as Isaac and Lilli, right? Shadow & Soul featuring Demon and Faith once again showed that why I should be sticking with this author. This might be the one that I truly love since I read All the Sky.Forbidden love, second chances, past, present...I knew I'm gonna love Demon since I first met him in Muse's book. He is the guy with an uncontrollable temper and prone to violence. When his face start looking red, it means he is gonna detonate. I'm imagining a red version Incredible Hulk. During the last book, he was trying to gain custody of his toddler son from his drug addict ex-girlfriend.Faith, the woman from his past came back to town to take care of her estranged, but ailing mother. Once these two soulmates met again after a decade, it brought back the old memories...10 years ago, Faith, 16, daughter of Blue, a MC member. While Demon, 21, a new prospect. She is the forbidden fruit, but despite warning from Blue, they both can't seems to stay away from each other. The young love ended in heartache, loss, misery.Their past and present was intervene flawlessly in between the chapters. I read the past with a huge sense of foreboding because we already know is gonna be awful for this young couple. I enjoyed the present very much because of how accepting Faith and Demon are with each other. It was as if the decade they were separated never happened."We were wrong before, but maybe we can be right now. I love you, Faith. I never stopped. I don't know how you feel, but - ""I love you, stupid. I never stopped, either"I know Demon sounds like a violent man, but when he was unprovoked and sober, he is actually a quiet, shy and vulnerable man. We learned more about Demon's childhood and his friendship with Muse. Learning about Demon's background gave us a clearer idea of why he turned out to be the way he is now. We also knew that he and Muse were tight previously, but now we understand more on their history. This book make me love Muse even more.Faith was having a lot on her plate as well, dealing with her conflicting feelings in regards of her mother. Learning that Demon had a son with another woman was also a lot to take in. I think she handled everything very well despite the circumstances. She loves Demon flaws and all."I'm not afraid of you, Michael. You're not a demon. You're a man - a scarred man with a beautiful heart."I have to admit I'm not overly excited about Nolan's book next because I'm usually not a fan of the younger MC heroes. I prefer them at least in 30s. And seeing as who Nolan's father was, it guarantee going to dig up all the feelings that I rather left buried.

Another 4 star review By Jillian Fae I've really grown to care about the characters over the three volumes released, even though combined they are around 200 pages.Java really is the ultimate hero, risking his life for others even though he's terrified. He has remained true to his character throughout the series, clumsy, sorta ditzy, but brave and kind hearted.The story moves along at a good pace, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I like the new characters so far, they seem complex and interesting.The one thing I wasn't really a fan of was the introduction of new zombies with no prior explanation of them. It threw me for a loop.Overall I'd definitely recommend this series, and can't wait to see what this author comes out with next.

I also liked that parts of the other books were mentioned in this book. It had been awhile since I read the other books, I didn't have to try go remember what happened in the other books. Christine seamlessly tied them into this book. I think even if somone didn't read the other books they would still renjoy this one. I have read all of Christine's books and I have never been dissappointed. I love that she really writes clean books with no bad language or sexual content and they are not cheesy. I received an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Beta Reading and Story By Jennifer Sprague I am a beta reader for Christine and I love the fact that she takes our opinions to heart and reflects them in her writings, I think she is a really smart and impressive writer. This book helps tie up everything form the previous books and gives it a great ending and helps to complete the story. I enjoy reading Christine's books before they are published and then rereading them to see the small changes that she has made from the suggestions that were given by myself and other beta readers. Keep up the great work Christine and I hope to read more of your books in the future.

I did purchase the first few books in this series and was immediately hooked! Christine Kersey proves once again that you can write an amazing story that will keep her readers interest without having the foul language and sex scenes that fill so many books these days. I for one can't wait to read what she writes next. Lily's story will grab you from the first chapter and you will ride the ups and downs with her until the very last word.
