The story is definitely explicit and does involve bondage(not really any sadism) but it's written in a way that is totally hot. I wish there was more!!As I read this I couldn't help but think about the first smex scene in Finder v1 and kept thinking Hyde and Asami would get along and could share notes;) My only criticism is not with the story(which I loved) but that there were some mistakes with words that really should have been fixed and picked up on by editing(It's only 32 pages). An example: using "is" when it was clearly supposed to be "his" and there were a few more, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment.

Hyde is a perfect dom who gets off not on the act of whipping or anything as such "sadistic" - he gets off on the sheer pleasure his submissive receives through his ministrations. And Alphonse is a perfect sub for him - responsive, honest, fully enjoying himself, and learning to trust and love the man overwhelming his body. Alphonse may be the son of a powerful man and eager to step up and be in charge, but he also recognizes his own fascination for Hyde and lets Hyde have the chance to translate that into a submissive homosexual nature.The amount of care and skill Hyde exhibits speaks of a master, and Alphonse fully appreciates what he is receiving: not just the sex, which he comes to love, but also the way he is respected and tended to. They establish such a good dynamic together and I would die for a sequel when he comes back from school.As a post script, if Fifty Shades of Trash took a lesson from Hyde, maybe the world would see how excellent BDSM can truly be and the books and movie might have actually deserved the hype so mistakenly granted them. Please, anyone curious about BDSM, read this instead. This is sensual, accurate BDSM, not abuse.

Hyde's Dungeon is one of them. Hot and sexy and definitely turned me on. Would love to read more about Hyde and Alphonse.

I needed to know what was going to happen. .. all the dirt that one friend does to another and she loves her like her sister. .. Charlie is so selfish. . Always thinking about herself and she just does not care about what she is doing to her best friend... all that karma is coming back to her big time and I know it is not over yet... she still has a lot of bad Karma to come her way... Ne'vaeh is such a sweet person that has had such a rough life... She thinks she has a best friend that has her best interest at heart... she is dead wrong... Her so called best friend will do her dirty in an instant... I hope that she gets the love that she is looking for with the person that she wants... why couldn't Aaron just choose her to began with??? why did Jamie leave her like he did??? I can't wait for part 2...

It started to get real annoying at one point because they couldn't even have a conversation without her crying. Everything made her cry. I would really recommend that heaven had some backbone and didn't cry so much emotions were everywhere.

Some of the words were repetitive but I don't feel that took away from the storyline like some of the reviews said. I will definitely be purchasing part 2, pleassseeee don't make the story more than 3 parts!!! and bring part 2 out soon.

13 of 13 people found the following review helpful. In Praise of a Difficult Woman By L. L. Golden I never understood the behavior of Lot's wife when I read her story in the Bible. When the town is literally falling to pieces around your ears and two white-garbed, winged men suddenly appear, shouting "Run for the hills and don't you dare look back!" it's time to follow orders and get the heck out of Dodge. Yet, she looks back at the disaster, turning away just as her survival is assured. Why would someone behave so foolishly? T. K. Thorne creates a reasonable answer for this woman whose name goes unmentioned in the Bible. Here, she is Adira, a girl with a mind of her own who travels disguised as a boy so she can stay with her widowered father. Adira finds it difficult to obey anyone when her good sense suggests otherwise, even the father she loves and respects. Then, as a "girl posing in boy's clothing" Adira can't help but notice men and women are treated differently in her world. Eventually she has to choose between the the life she wants as a female and the freedom she's enjoyed as a male. T. K. Thorne combined religious, archeological and historical study to create this story of a woman who followed her own path in the world. Here at last is an explanation for God's angels, those messengers who warn Lot and his family of their peril and the rest of Lot's behavior in Genesis. Lot is the nephew of Abraham and described in the Bible as a righteous but Thorne recounts his actions and leaves it up to the readers to draw their own conclusions.And, in the end, this is is not the story of a male who follows orders to escape but the woman who watched him leave before making a choice of her own. Lot's wife may have been been a willful and stubborn woman but she had a life and reason for her actions and she deserves a better epitaph than "The Lady who turned into Salt." Thanks to T. K. Thorne, Lot's wife is transformed back into woman, wayward and strong but alive.

Hayes Angels at the Gate is just as wonderful as Noah's Wife, Thorne's first novel. The characters are compelling, and the historical setting is well researched. As a bonus, if you are an animal lover, you will be thrilled with Nami the dog and Philot the donkey.This author has a unique way of telling the great Jewish stories of the Old Testament so that the reader feels a part of this ancient time and gains insight as to what could have been the untold accounts of the characters.Read and enjoy.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. A gripping story set in biblical times By L. Caminiti Angels at the Gate by T.K. Thorne, was sent to me by a publisher for my purview. Ms. Thorne started her career as a police officer and went on to be a business improvement district director. One would think that if she wrote a book it might be about crime or fraud. But, no, she writes a very good historical fiction book about Lot's wife (Lot and his wife are in the Old Testament and are in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah). There is very little known about Lot's wife (her name isn't even given in the bible) other than she turns into a pillar of salt. Ms. Thorne takes this small thread and turns it into a "can't put down" story. It's probably easier, actually, to do this if there isn't a whole lot (pardon the pun) known about the character. You're free to create what you want. Except in historical fiction, you do need to get the historical part right. The author had to do a tremendous amount of research on the Old Testament and on the lifestyles of it's inhabitants. She creates a name for Lot's future wife, Adira, and starts the story with Adira as a child being raised as a boy in her father's caravan. Adira enjoys being a boy because she quickly deduces that she has far more freedoms as a male rather than the lack thereof for females. After some murder and mayhem, the dilemma Adira has is whether to return to her family and thereby keep a promise to her father or go in search of her kidnapped "angel". That "angel" would be one of two mysterious strangers, Mika and Raph, whom everyone believes are angels and messengers from God. The character I liked the best was actually, Nami, a large hunting dog. Nami is important because she has a pivotal role in many of the major scenes. Of all the characters, the one's with the least depth and aren't well fleshed out are the angels. But then again it seems that is the way they are portrayed in the Old Testament. In her author's notes, Ms. Thorne provides anecdotal evidence to support why she chose to tell the biblical parts of the story the way she did. She also supplies a very helpful list of all of the characters.

By A Customer Although slightly biased, as the author's daughter, I cannot help feeling this is one of the best books I have ever read. Set in a medieval monastery, it shows the struggle of the brothers living there and how they deal with them. The book shows how through our weakness we are made strong, and how through handicap and humility, we overcome adversity. The spiritual journey one goes through on reading this book is amazing. Every time I read it, I find it uplifting, thought-provoking and deeply moving. It is also very funny, and often makes me laugh out loud. I recommend it to anybody, along with the other two in the trilogy - The Hawk And The Dove, and The Long Fall. (Both available from Amazon.)

By lighthouse88 The second book in The Hawk and the Dove series also has the daughter, Melissa, asking her mother to tell her stories that have been handed down from generation to generation by the females in her family. These stories center on a monastery in the early 1300s, featuring Abbot or Father Peregrine and the brothers who served with him in the monastery. Young Melissa, who is now sixteen years old, is gaining much advice, knowledge and insight into how to live for God through these stories.In this series of tales, we learn more about Father Peregrine and his ability or lack thereof to handle his disability and the reliance it causes him to have on others for help. We see others reactions to his disability and a protective bond that has formed between Peregrine and his fellow brothers at the monastery. The love Peregrine feels for his brothers he expresses in ways of humility, discipline, and putting them in a situation where they are forced to come to terms with their fear in order to allow them to completely surrender to God.Just as in book one in the series, this second book is filled with spiritual examples with practical applications to put to use in situations and relationships. Again, I couldn’t put the book down as I was, just like Melissa in the book, so drawn to see what Father Peregrine and his fellow brothers in the monastery were up to next. I seemed to be always begging for another story just like her. My heart was tugged at some of the ways Father Peregrine showed certain brothers the love of Christ by putting himself in a difficult or humiliating situations. Readers will see Father Peregrine struggle with his pride, but remember Jesus’ sacrifice and wounds on the cross and then surrender himself to God. I am so grateful to have come across this series that has so much to teach readers about how to live life with a God focus.

I had it in the back of my mind to try them, and never got around to it. Now, thanks to Lion Hudson Publishing, I've been able to encounter these stories in fresh reprint editions.At first, the books sound rather obscure. Vignettes from a 14th century Benedictine monastery? Wasn't that the Dark Ages? Were people back then even human? Didn't monks live such tiny lives? What could they have to say to me?It turns out, these winsome stories have a great deal to teach me, and perhaps you too.In Abbot Peregrine's own pain, the wounds of Christ have become very precious to him. These wounds of God- received because of love- are at the core of Peregrine's theology. They comfort him in his afflictions, and they teach him mercy when he interacts with the world.Again, as you read this book, you'll see Peregrine being refined like gold in the fire. This conforming to the image of Christ happens slowly, surely, and with many stumbles on the way. A Formula That Works By Filip Galetic As someone who's been into fitness and nutrition for over 10 years, I can personally attest this book has all the right information without the BS. Petrina comes off as someone who lives and breathes fitness and eating healthy, and her personality shines through in the text. Her matter of fact style is a breath of fresh air in the fluffy genre of fitness nutrition, believe me. Even though I knew most of these things, I will be using this book as a reminder of how to "program" my mindset and keep on track. As Petrina so nicely puts it, it's all about the moving finish lines!

I know I need to lose some weight and I know there's no magic pill or easy shortcut, and that makes it really hard to find motivation. This book gives you solid advice and lots of motivation that while losing weight won't be super easy, you can totally do it. It walks you through everything from meal planning and cooking, food journaling, and even helps you set realistic goals that will help you succeed by not setting you up for failure.At all times it has this real "we're in it together" feel and it's clear Petrina Hamm really gets what it's like to be staring at that scale and wondering how you're going to get that number down without living on carrots for the rest of your life. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to shed pounds in a healthy way by making serious lifestyle changes.

About the Author Helen Brown grew up in a small Missouri town and changed colors when she married her pastor and became Helen Gray. While working alongside her husband in his ministry, she had three children, taught school, directed/accompanied church music programs, and became an amateur ventriloquist. Now retired, with the children gone from the nest, she and her supportive husband still live in their native Missouri Ozarks where he roams the woods, hunts and fishes, and she weaves stories meant to honor God and depict Christian lives and problems as she knows and observes them. Helen thanks God for the time and opportunity to write and considers it an added blessing if her stories touch others in even a small way.

The Author created a setting that made me feel like I was there. Jesse and Gabe's story is very sweet and you can't help but root for their happily ever after.Jesse is a wonderful, strong heroine with a good heart and quick broom. She and her brother have overcome a tough childhood and rely heavily on God. Gabe is a swoon-worthy hero who has a heart for God's work. In fact, the whole story has a strong message of the redemptive power of God. While this may offend some readers who don't wish to mix "religion" and romance, I think the Author wove the message very effectively. Faith is such a part of who the characters are, the message gets conveyed without stopping the storyline in its tracks. I liked it very much because I thought it added depth to the story and characters.I got this book during a free giveaway period, but I believe it is worth the cost if you don't happen to be as fortunate as me. I am so looking forward to reading the other books in this series. I think the Author captures the Depression Era really well.

When they return to their home where they lived with their parents their lives will change. When Gabe shows up Jessie's life completely changed. Watching there relationship grow is wonderful. The way Jessie took care of Gabes mom was remarkable. You will feel God working in this book.

Siblings Jason and Jessie are returning to their home after fleeing nine years ago following the death of their mother. Atwood, their dad, had been an abuser but now he is dead and the farm is theirs. Breaking down in their 1920 Model T Ford, Lady Putt Putt, before they even arrive at their destination they are surprised to be greeted by a man and his gun when they do finally arrive. Who is he? Gabe is an old friend and neighbor of theirs. Having left at 11 & 12, all three of them have changed. Gabe, six years old, is now a handsome man and he soon notices how pretty Jessie has become.All are surprised to discover that the house has been ransacked even though Gabe has been watching the place. What was someone looking for? Going to town to pick up supplies, Gabe and Jessie surprise intruders once again when they arrive home. Despite the depression Jason is able to find work in Poplar Bluff and Jessie works for Gabe's mom who is dying and needs constant care.Gabe has a heart to help people. He also loves the Lord and that is why he helped Atwood when he needed it. He knows that the only way Jessie can get over her past is through forgiveness. He does keep wondering though how he and others missed the abuse that was going on. Will he admit that he is in love with Jessie even though romance was not in his plan? How will Jessie respond to him?This is an easy and sometimes predictable read about down-to-earth, hardworking people who don't expect anything to be handed to them on a silver platter. There are a few editing errors but nothing major. At times, I felt the book read as if it were set in a much more modern time than 1929 but that may have just been me! This is a Christian book based on biblical principles. It is clean with no sex, bad language etc. Although the first book in a trilogy it does have an ending and a great epilogue. I look forward to reading the next ones in this series. Thanks, Liz
