For over a thousand years, the medieval city of Constantinople has been the jewel on the crown of the Roman Empire. Now, the once-mighty metropolis is broken down, with its defensive walls in shambles. Long have the neighboring Turks wanted to claim the city, and Mehmet—the impetuous new Turkish sultan—thinks he and his legions might finally have their chance. In defiance of his late father’s advisors, Mehmet vows to be the first leader in a millennium to wrench Constantinople from the Christians. He is determined to take the city from the weakened but beloved Emperor Constantine—even if he loses his throne and his life in the process.

An epic historical military adventure, Constantinopolis plots out the future of civilization as shaped by a number of fascinating characters, including one leader desperate to save his people from destruction and another determined to lead his nation to glory.

It is historically accurate (I checked!) but, unlike most history text books, the facts are presented in very readable prose. It is interesting from both a historical and a stylistic perspective. I liked the fact that the reader is drawn into events from the viewpoints of both Mehmet and Constantine, this serves to constantly shift the reader's sympathy from one to the other. The love story between Constantine and the only fictional character, Zophia, gives the novel a 'human interest' perspective, however, as an long-term inhabitant of the wonderful city that is modern Istanbul, I have to confess to having started the novel with a pre-existing leaning toward the Ottoman cause. That said, what the novel really did for me was make me want to find out more, it also reinforced my view that there are always at least two sides to any conflict; this novel presents both sides and allows the reader to form their own opinion about events. Highly recommended :).

The whys and hows behind the movement of nations against each other and the epic battles that ensued. But I usually lose interest in history books that chronicle such events, because I don't feel like I get inside the human dynamics that existed between the people who make the decisions. This book took me straight inside the heads of the men in power. The main characters are Mehmet, the Sultan of the Ottoman Turks, and Constantine XI, the reigning Greek Emperor of Constantinople. I really got a sense of both these men as human beings with desires, emotions, hopes, self-doubt, and every other basic emotion that we all can relate to.Mehmet is young, insanely ambitious, and fighting to prove himself. Constantine is middle aged, struggling to hold onto the last shards of a once thriving city and his own honor, and the woman he loves, Zophia. Both men have very different agendas, making them the perfect dramatic pair to clash together. This contrast sucked me in from the beginning of the book. The author made it seem like both men were up against insurmountable odds. I was shaking my head and laughing at the train wreck that Mehmet and Constantine were stepping into, both fully aware of how crazy their situations were.Definitely a great read if you like history, but think history books are boring!

Still, while reading, I was in suspense right up until the end of the story.I appreciated the juxtaposition of the moral certitude held by both sides. "God's will" and "Allah's will" were portrayed battling as much as the armies. The siege and the story is also a battle between Constantine's will and Mehmet's will. It was fascinating to read how much personal doubt each of them had about what to do next and how much pushing and pulling they were receiving from their own advisors. The author's extensive historical research and knowledge show throughout the book. I felt like I was there watching history happen. While the author adds some fictional elements, (clearly identified at the end) these made the book even more enjoyable.People who enjoy historical fiction will think this book is a winner. Even if you aren't a fan of history, this is a well told story.

Brick was the town’s football star and was showered with everything and anything he needed growing up. As was expected, he dated Veronica Hightower, the mayor’s pretty and popular daughter. When she returns to town, Cassidy is no longer the ugly duckling. She is a beautiful and wealthy swan. She is surprised by the chilly reception that she receives from her mother and other town folks. It is a direct contrast to the big welcome parade that everyone is planning for the return of their favorite son, Brick Slade. At first with all the characters, I was confused, as I continued to read, the characters fell into place. It was real life, it was truth, it was inspiring, it was inspirational! I cried a little, some of the storylines were heart wrenching, then at the end, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH! Well done Monique, well done!!!

The storyline was interesting and the author gave enough insight to the lives of the other supporting characters so nothing was left to the imagination about them so to speak. I also enjoyed how the author weaved in just how powerful God is and wrote how some people struggle with their faith....that it is not always (well it doesn't feel like it all the time) sunshine and peaches but the reward of having a great relationship with God is beyond awesome. Indeed "all things work together for those who love the Lord."

Hidden gem By Hammonds Brown First of all, this book began like it was the author's first work, but it didn't take long for things to heat up and the author was wrong like a pro. I REALLY enjoyed this romance. It could easily be called chit lit, too, because the heroine finds herself and how through her own journey to transform into a greater woman by God's grace and her faith in Him and His purpose for her life. I REALLY ENJOYED this book. I pray this author gets picked up by a major publishing company who will invest her talent.

There's only one problem: Kirsty is actually a man - a man who happens to spend every waking second of his time as a girl - but a man no less. Well, that and the fact that James is in a relationship, one that he doesn't plan on getting out of anytime soon. 60,000 words.

This is a realistic look at Kirsty, a transgender woman, and John, a man trapped in a loveless relationship, and how they overcome their fears and find each other. The characters are well-developed and complicated and excellently described by Ms. Sharp. I couldn't put it down and immediately read Reckoning, the second book in the series; and now I'm eagerly looking forward to Staying Him (tentative title), the third book in the series. What sets this novel apart is the author's vivid portrayal of the feelings, emotions, prejudices, desires and fears of the two main characters: Kirsty and John. This is not one of the many transgender books here on Amazon that involve unrealistic characters and magical transformations. This is a very well-written and engrossing novel that grabs your attention and keeps it.

It started as one thing, shifted into another, and ultimately revealed itself to be something else entirely. Although Staying Her does suffer from some of the exasperating aspects of the genre (I will touch on those in a minute), it was everything I could have asked for in a transgender romance. My one stumbling point with Holly Sharp's tale is a level of superficial glitz-and-glamour more suited to soap operas than the romance genre. The opening chapters are quite literally all over the place, taking our characters from one exotic locale to another, and indulging in a free-wheeling party lifestyle of which most of us can only dream. I get the appeal, and I eventually settled in enough to make sense of it, but I found it a very jarring sort of introduction to her world. That trope element aside, I loved the characters, and I really loved the slow, gradual development of the love triangle. James was a genuinely good guy, placed in an awkward sort of situation. Sure, he makes mistakes, and he could have been more open with those around him, but I appreciated the way he stumbled through navigating his emotions. Skye I had issues with, especially as her shallowness and selfishness became more and more apparent. Yes, she has her heart broken in an awkward fashion, but I never really liked her, and could see she was not the right partner for James. Kirsty, on the other hand, I absolutely adored. The way Sharp develops her character is fantastic, slowly taking her through an evolution of gender, friendship, identity, and love. She is a vulnerable soul, and I am sure many will find fault with her for inserting herself in a relationship, but you so desperately want her to be happy that it is a bit easier to make excuses in her situation. There were times where I was not at all sure where the story was going, and the ending might seem a little too perfect, but this is a romance, and we all want our happily-ever-after. Staying Her is the most thoroughly enjoyable transgender romance I have come across in ages, and I am anxious to find time to reconnect with James and Kirsty again in Reckoning.

I particularly liked that it showed two imperfect, and flawed people finding each other and building a happy stable relationship. I'm excited to read more stories from this author.

THE EXCITING CONCLUSION TO THE VIRTUES AND VALOR SERIES!! HELEN MULBERRY, the youngest child and only daughter of a wealthy Texas oil tycoon, has always had her every wish granted immediately. When the Germans march into France, no one denies her request to fly her plane to England and help free up a male pilot for combat. Her father's influence opens doors, and 19 year old Helen joins the Virtues team. Now under the code-name FAITH, she flies between Britain and France, transporting passengers, supplies, or performing reconnaissance. The Nazis guard their skies with vigor, and Helen learns to fly in combat, land in a field with no lights, and evade the anti-aircraft fire. She masterfully takes on each mission, despite the perceptions and chauvinistic attitudes of many of the male pilots. Shot down over France during the mission to rescue the agent code named TEMPERANCE from the clutches of the Gestapo, Helen must make her way through enemy territory with no language skills and somehow come through with a means to get her team back to Britain. Can she save them, or will they all find that they have no way out? FLIGHT OF FAITH is the final episode in seven serialized novellas entitled the Virtues and Valor series by Hallee Bridgeman. Seven serialized novellas, each inspired by real people and actual events, reveal the incredible story of amazing heroines facing the ultimate test of bravery. In 1941 Great Britain a special war department assembles an experimental and exclusively female cohort of combat operatives. Four willing spies, a wireless radio operator, an ingenious code breaker, and a fearless pilot are each hand-picked, recruited, and trained to initiate a daring mission in Occupied France. As plans are laid to engineer the largest prison break of Allied POWs in history, the Nazis capture the Virtues' radio operator. It will take the cohesive teamwork of the rest of the women to save her life before Berlin breaks her and brings the force of the Third Reich to bear. Some find love, some find vengeance, and some discover the kind of strength that lives in the human heart when all they can do is rely on each other and their shared belief. Courage, faith, and valor intersect but, in the end, one pays the ultimate price.

Just 19 years old and from Texas, she spent several days flying to England to become part of one of the teams to serve. Helen Mulberry began flying when she learned how to walk when her oldest brother, a war hero from WWI, deemed her old enough to reach the pedals and controls.Going to Europe to join in the fight for freedom was not approved of by her family; her oldest brother Eddie, the ‘Flying Ace’, had returned from WWI a broken man. What would happen to Helen if she were to be in the military? Yet she believed that the Lord had called her to go, and she couldn’t not go. Her code name is Faith because of the tremendous faith that she demonstrated when speaking with Major Charlene Raddon, with whom she met when volunteering. Faith was part of a group of Christian women from various Allied countries nicknamed the ‘Virtues’, based on their faith and Christian virtues. They are ladies whose faith and endurance comes is only from the courage given by their Lord.Faith had flown the Virtues to their destinations of service, using the plane ‘Texas Diamond’ that she had piloted from Texas, a 16th birthday gift from her father. When the assignments of the other ladies heat up, however, everything seems to be against her getting to them on time – and when she finally gets to the pickup location, will everyone else be able to board? And for those who do get to board – being on board this plane will take as much faith as each can muster of whether they would see tomorrow.Faith is another of my favorite characters of all the virtues! Her abiding faith in God and courage to fly to England, alone and without the blessing of some of her family is amazing! Yet she proceeds through the odds and proves herself as a pilot worthy of her wings, especially as she proves herself amongst the other pilots. We see through the interactions with her family in the introduction how she has grown up, and the things that have helped her faith, strength, and determination. The plot ties together all of the previous stories of the Virtues and Valor series, and should be read only after finishing those. It is a roller-coaster ride of trusting in and loving God no matter what His will is, and buckling into your seat with the courage of Joshua and the faith of King David. Any open ends from the series are completely woven in, and is a satisfying even when heartbreaking read. I highly recommend this series to readers of all ages, especially teens who are being tossed from wave to wave when trying to find a heroine in these tumultuous times. Even though the Virtues are fictional, the ladies on who their characters are based are real. Hallee Bridgeman brings us into the heart of World War II with believable characters that we come to love as family and a plot that rivals that of the men who had similar assignments to carry out. She also shows us what women are capable of when they follow the call of the Lord and trust in Him – because these are paths that women have walked throughout history. This series is not to be missed. With a grateful heart, I received a copy of this book through the “For Readers Only” group at The Book Club Network, in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own, and no monetary compensation was received for this review.

Fast paced finish to awesome series By SHAN Flight of Faith is the 7th and final novella in the WWII based Virtues and Values series by Hallee Bridgeman. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. James 2:24 (NKJV) pg. 5Helen Mulberry, the only daughter in a family of four, i being brought up by her eldest brother Edward, a WWI flying ace, after the death of their mom and loss of one brother to this war. Their father now fills his time with work, and the other brother is busy with his own family. Only problem is that Edward has been lost to life after the death of their brother, sure it was somehow his fault. One night, over family Bible time, Helen announces to her family that she will be heading over to England to help with the war effort, freeing up more men to fight the war. Her brother Eddie, wants to hear nothing of it, the father says she is too young at just 19, but she feels God calling her to do this and so she leaves in her own plane, bought for her when she was just 16.She arrives at HQ, where she is not warmly welcomed by the men, even though she has been traveling for a week. Helen knows if she was a man she would be treated differently and refuses to be mistreated. She is a spunky, sassy, breath of fresh air with a heart as big as Texas, where she comes from. She is an awesome pilot and when taken up to see what she can do, more than impresses both Major Radden and Captain Reginald Green whom Helen nicknames, Green Eyes."...I can’t imagine that your brother Eddie gave you his blessing to be here.” Helen lifted her chin. “Didn’t need anyone’s blessing. Diamond’s my plane. I’m 19, old enough to come on my own. He ain’t speaking to me right now, but that’s up to him and I can’t let it affect whether I follow God’s call or not.” “God’s call? So, I’m to understand you’re a woman of faith, then?” “Faith is the most important thing in my life, Major." pg. 17 Helen is added to the group of six, now 7, and given the name:"FAITH - allegiance to duty or a person: loyalty: fidelity to one's promises or sincerity of intentions: belief and trust in and loyalty to God: firm belief in something: complete trust: something that is believed, especially with strong conviction." pg. 14Captain Green is put in charge of training Faith, and as much as she exasperates him as time, one can see that she is starting to grow on him. But when she oversteps a boundary, flashing lights on the ending of one of the training sessions, she is grounded for three days. She is annoyed, frustrated and then comes to her senses and realizes that she was wrong. She performs many drops and pick ups, and then is called to pick up and deliver 'precious' cargo, and given very specific details on how this mission will proceed. Her co-pilot is already on board, making the preflight check and when she finds out the co-pilot is none other than Green eyes, whose very presence causes her irritation. The flight gives them some time to talk and she discovers that he is an injured war vet from WWI, also known as the Great War, as well as other information and a silent truce is reached. They arrive and wait for their precious cargo."Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” Their contact spoke in English. His voice was a deep baritone and very American, as if he hailed from Northern California or the Pacific Northwest. Recovering from her shock that an American wore a Nazi uniform and quoted Scripture, Helen held up her hand. “That’s my challenge verse.” She spoke toward the open door and threw a thumbs up." pg. 32Prudence and Faith are in the empty dining hall when Faith receives a package from back home. A package not for herself but to be shared with all on the base. Sugar, and lots of it, along with containers to put it out on the tables. She has Prudence help her and soon all containers are filled and extra stored away safely. Rations means many have not tasted sugar in months, if not years. What a surprise and treat this will be. Faith's sister in law had put it all together for her, and she must go and write her a most heart felt thank you.Prudence, too, has a letter to write, but quite a different one.' “I need to find a way to say what I want to say...“Do you think God prepared us for this before we even came here?” “Prudence, I absolutely do believe that.” She slapped her knee. “I absolutely believe it. Think of the various skills and gifts we each have. How else could you explain it? That we’re just some random grouping of people who happened to all have highly honed skills? Come on. Of course He prepared us!” “Which means He prepared our hearts as well.” She brought her hands forward and laced her fingers. “Somehow, I have to put that into words on a written page in the form of a letter.”' pg. 38On Dec. 7, 1945 Japan declares war on USA and Faith worries that she will be called from her job working with her friends, co-spies but Major Radden assures her she is part of this group up and until either she or Faith decide it's time for her to move on.Faith loves this little group of women she has become a part of, and it means so much to her, especially having grown up in a family surrounded by men. She is so thankful to God for this opportunity and knows she is blessed."God brought them all together at this time. She had deep and abiding faith in that very notion. Each one of the women at this table had exceptional skills, honed to near perfection, that would help them in the difficult and dangerous work ahead. Why would God have given Charity and Temperance such minds for puzzles and code or Prudence such instinctive reactions to situations? Why would He have gifted Grace with the strength and agility of a warrior and Hope with the power of seduction and persuasion? Couple all of that with Mercy’s surgical skills and her own flying skills, and what God had created decades before the mere mortals on earth even knew they needed it, was a finely tuned team. They came together as if made for each other, in love and trust, and one which could work as a single solid unit. It filled her heart and took her breath away – that God would choose her, her, to be a part of this monumental moment – that He would have her, little Helen from Lamarr, begin flying these amazing and gifted women to their assignments so they could begin their work. pg. 46And then the night comes and it is time for the mission to bring Temperance home to England to get the much needed health care she needs, which means breaking her out of prison, getting her to the plane and out of enemy territory in a short time frame. On the way over, the plane she is driving crashes. Now what? Co-pilot tells of an airfield where the Germans fix planes and prepare them for service again. They should be able to find something there to accomplish this mission. They take off running and arrive to find the airfield lit up like a Christmas tree, with all kinds of planes belonging to a variety of the upper crust of the German commanders in town for Hopes' concert at the prison. The plane closest to the runway will do just fine, except they have been spotted and told to halt or they will be shot. What will they do? Time is ticking and many lives are depending on them? You will not be able to put this book down, what with the fast paced activity as well as family connections being made, and many questions being answered. The series has been awesome and this final one definitely is the perfect ending. Pick up the whole series to read today, you will not be disappointed.I was given this book by bookfun.org and the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you. Awesome writing and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series, as well as meeting the real heroes and reading up on the many events that these books were based upon.

And just like the first 6 installments, this book does not fail to capture your attention and hold you until the last sentence of the last page. The Virtue team member Faith brings a whole other layer to this band of characters. Her sassy bold attitude is what her loveable and naughty. But it’s also those attitudes that bring her and those she is sent to rescue through it all to the conclusion. To say much more would rob the reader of the conclusion of this amazing series. The twists and turns of the plot of these stories is so well thought out and researched. The attention to detail is what makes this book so good. The author bring so much reality to a work of fiction. I, for one, am sad to see it come to an end. But I look forward to future works of Ms. Bridgeman.*Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book through the “For Readers Only” group at The Book Club Network, in exchange for my honest review. Best PDF Ebook What is a Rune? and Other Essays, by Collin Cleary

In these nine remarkable essays, Collin Cleary expands upon the ideas of his path-breaking book Summoning the Gods and ventures into entirely new territory: "What is a Rune?" explores the nature of mytho-poetic thought and the problem of recovering the mysteries of runa. "The Fourfold" uses Martin Heidegger's phenomenology of "dwelling" as a means of approaching our ancestors' way of being in the world. "The Ninefold" offers a philosophical interpretation of the nine worlds of Germanic myth. "The Gifts of Odin and his Brothers" unveils the inner meaning of the account of human origins found in the Eddas. "The Stones Cry Out" advances the revolutionary thesis that "openness to Being" explains the sudden appearance of art in Europe 40,000 years ago. Cleary's controversial essay "Ásatrú and the Political" argues that Ásatrú is inseparable from White Nationalism. "Are We Free?" skewers the false conception of freedom to which Westerners are in thrall. "Heidegger: An Introduction for Anti-Modernists" offers readers the best English-language introduction to the most important philosopher of the last century. "The Prisoner and Ibsen's Brand" is a sequel to Cleary's popular essay on The Prisoner from Summoning the Gods, exploring this enigmatic television series in the light of Henrik Ibsen's classic play about implacable moralism.

By Jack Donovan In the title essay, Cleary builds on his discussion about achieving an openness to concepts and ideas from another time -- specifically in this case, the runes. His insights into "The Fourfold" and untangling of the Nine worlds found in Germanic paganism were enlightening, evocative, even exciting. The association of Muspelheim and Niflheim with solve and coagula, in particular, stood out, and I now link Niflheim not only with ice, but with serpents and retraction, pulling in and unification. Cleary offers similar oppositional concepts for the rest of the nine worlds, and his interpretations breathed a lot of life into them for me. I’m certain I’ll come back to the book and re-read portions of these essays again and again over the coming years. I'd recommend this as a solid intro for non - "universalist" heathens attempting to process ideas from another "man-age" and make sense of them in this one.

By Christopher Cahill "The Stones Cry Out" -- a long essay at the center of this extraordinarily rich and powerful collection -- is the strongest and most searching philosophical inquiry written in our time. As the main streams of commercial and academic publishing dry up (as an inevitable consequence of the commitment of those at the helm to living by lies), it is encouraging indeed to discover writing of this quality flourishing at the margins. Collin Cleary is a master, an examplar of intellectual fortitude, a penetrating guide as to how we might, as he puts it, "become who we are." Counter-Currents is a brave and increasingly invaluable publishing endeavor.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Brilliant Contribution to Western Thought by an Important and Original Thinker By Daniel F. This is one of those rare books that makes one regret having given “five star” reviews to books that were merely quite good: it somehow dilutes and diminishes the effect when one comes across a book that merits the highest praise. Colin Cleary’s What is a Rune? is a truly great book by an important, even paradigm-changing author. It deserves to be read and taken seriously by anyone concerned about the origins, and future, of Man, particularly Western Man. I firmly believe that with the benefit of hindsight, Cleary’s book will be seen contain at least one seminal, epochal essay, as discussed below.Collin Cleary is perhaps the most brilliant contemporary expositor of the Germanic mythic tradition. Bringing together close readings of source materials (including the Poetic and Prose Eddas as well as materials in the Hindu and Indo-European tradition), etymological analysis (including speculation, similar to one of his primary philosophical influences Heidegger), broad and deep reading in the Western philosophic tradition and truly creative, original thought, Cleary makes the Norse mythic tradition relevant to our world and seeks ways to make it alive again.Yet, to think of Clearly merely as an interpreter or expositor of a past tradition and mythology is to woefully underestimate the originality and importance of his thought and the extent of his creative capabilities and to misunderstand the very nature of his project. His interest in the Germanic tradition does not arise out of, or merely out of, a backward-looking and nostalgic melancholy over a lost world. He wants the worldview and spirit of his ancestors to come alive today and explains why it is tragic that the people of those tradition are largely unaware of their origins and their potential. In that sense, Cleary’s project has affinities with the idea of “archeofuturism” put forward by French philosopher Guillaume Faye: we are inspired by our ancestors, not to go backward but to move forward – with the same spirit – into a new world that we will create. This is not about “LARPing” or simply propping up a static, staid and essentially dead past. It is recognizing and activating the spirit and mindset that already exists within us and that is every bit as powerful as the spirit that inspired the original myths and the Germanic cultural tradition writ large. In his first collection, Summoning the Gods, Cleary presented highly original essays on how modern Western man has lost, and might bring back, the numinous, the sacred, the meaningfully pregnant into everyday life. He continues that project with several of the essays in What Is a Rune?, particularly the Fourfold and the Ninefold, which are attempts to recreate the worldview and the mindset of the historic Germanic / Norse peoples. In understanding that worldview, for Cleary, Heidegger is just as important a figure in this tradition as the authors of the Eddas. As interesting and important as those essays are, it is with the lengthiest essay in this collection – The Stones Cry Out – that we now are presented with Cleary’s magnum opus. This stunning essay sets forth a highly original and almost awe-inspiring conjecture and hypothesis about the origin and purpose of man, and the purpose of the universe, and man’s role in carrying out that purpose. Invoking Heidegger and Hegel, among others, in formulating his theory, The Stones Cry Out goes beyond those thinkers and presents a wholly new theory incorporating researches into archeology, anthropology, aesthetic theory and philosophy to produce a truly weighty and important piece. Although Cleary is foremost a philosopher and thinker and not a political activist, yet the essay gives a new urgency and poignancy to many of the “identitarian” and dissident right movements taking shape today: it shows _why_ it is so important to preserve Western culture, to allow it to “be itself” and to enable it (i.e. its people) to take itself to the next stage. The Stones Cry Out will be viewed as a seminal and epochal essay. In setting forth his theory, Cleary also calls into question Darwinism and the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection. Cleary is a pagan, so obviously his questioning of Darwinism is not inspired or influenced by “Intelligent Design” or another of the non-scientific apologies that tries to justify creationism. It is a philosophical case that attempts to show logically why Darwinism and TENS cannot be true or, at the least, are flawed or not complete pictures of the workings of the universe.I should also mention that the editing of the volume is excellent: although The Stones Cry Out rests on its own merits, the ordering of the essays leading up to it in the book does help to prepare readers for Cleary’s message. And the immediately following essay – Asatru and the Political – is also well placed as there are in fact political implications that follow from The Stones Cry Out. The book is also beautifully produced, from the cover illustration and lay-out, to the font and printing.Given the importance of Cleary’s thought and work, one may reasonable ask: What is next for Collin Cleary? I believe he may have provided a hint in the essay on Heidegger contained in this book. Cleary notes that, despite his quintessentially Germanic thinking, lifestyle and bearing, Heidegger – due to his classical education – looked exclusively to the Greeks in exploring philosophical concepts, foremost the idea of “Being”.Cleary asks: “Why then, when [Heidegger] considered how ‘we’ once oriented ourselves toward Being, did he not explore the ancient myths and texts of Northern Europe? I am thinking, of course of the Eddas and Sagas, and other sources. Why did he not delve into the research of the Brothers Grimm, and others, into Germanic myth and the sources of Germanic language. It is a pity that he didn’t.” Cleary then continues: “It is just left to someone else to do the philosophical work Heidegger didn’t do: the work of revealing how Being disclosed itself to the ancient Northern European peoples.”Collin Cleary has obviously begun that project himself in his two books of essays, but it is clear he considers that work largely undone. We, his readers, can look forward with hope that he will continue to take this task upon himself. It will be a philosophical and literary boon worth waiting for if he does.

The directions are easy to understand and apply, nothing difficult to comprehend when making these delicious recipes. Anyone who is a Vegan knows how hard it is to explain this lifestyle to persons and knows how hard it is to transition, especially when the cravings hit. The author gave tips on what to eat when certain cravens come on and also gives diet plans which incorporate the “Super Foods” which make up the Vegan diet. I have been fond of getting Vegan cookbooks because Vegan diet is a thing now, like a famous rock star. I love eating veggies and would like to try a lot of recipes from the cookbooks I got from the past. However the ingredients needed are a bit pricey that is why I lost interest. Having this book, I am happy that I can continue with my Vegan diet with just small amount of money involved to get all the ingredients needed. It doesn’t offer 100+ recipes but I must say that this is a competitive cookbook. Great work to its author.
